About Carer

Working through Sparrow has proved to be the most satisfying work of all time. I’m in my mid-60s and have never enjoyed working so much. I love nurturing!

I’m a natural carer and have been caring for people in their own homes for over twenty years. I’ve looked after clients with dementia, those needing hoists and feeding, and people with a wide range of other needs. I have experience using hoists, bed baths, slide sheets and more. It’s such a privilege to be invited into someone’s home to enable them to have the best life they can given their circumstances.

I can help with  personal care and companionship both in and away from the home. Along with caring for the individual, I’m also happy to do mending, laundry, gardening, cooking, ironing, general tidying – or even unblock a drain. Whatever is needed to keep life running smoothly.

References & Client Feedback

1. I first met Alice in 2006 when my mother sustained a spinal cord injury and paralysis and we were looking for a carer when she was transferring home from the spinal unit. Alice supported my mother at home from 2006 until she died in 2016. During this time Alice was invaluable in ensuring that my mother could stay at home with my father. She is a truly committed, kind and thoughtful person who can turn her hand to anything. She built up an amazing bond with my mother and indeed all the family. She took on the main role of carer and organising other carers to ensure that all my mother’s needs were met and gave my father such support too. Nothing was too much for Alice and she always found solutions when problems arose. I highly recommend Alice as a dedicated carer and a very special person. Anyone who receives support from Alice will be so fortunate….she is one of a kind.

2. I have known Alice since 2020. We became friends through attending activities at church. Alice is a very kind, caring and honest person I have always found her willing to offer her assistance wherever she saw a need. I am aware she is involved in the care sector, work which she enjoys and I know of no reason why she would not be a suitable person for you to employ.
