About Carer

Hi, I’m Andrea. I’ve lived in Haltwhistle for almost a year now, having moved to Northumberland from Cornwall 14 years ago. I live with my big daft German Shepherd Riley, who is the love and bane of my life in equal measures!

I started my care journey as a child, helping care for my mum who had many health issues. As an adult I was a single parent of two autistic children, so going into Health and Social Care felt like the natural course when commitments allowed.

I’ve worked in care for 22 years, gaining experience across various healthcare settings and with a wide range of complexity. I’m more than happy to help with personal care, food prep, and household chores, but I’m happiest working in more complex settings where moving and handling equipment is necessary.

I’m positive, friendly, reliable, discreet, and a bit of a perfectionist. Your happiness = my job satisfaction!

1. Andrea was involved with Mam's care, with the last agency we used. Mam has complex needs, which I have to say that some carers struggle with. Andrea managed mam very well and quickly recognised what was required and how best to do it. I was present when Andrea was delivering Mam's care and was very happy with her manner and the thoroughness of her work. She gently went about her work, and at the same time talked to mam to tell her what she was doing and constantly reassuring her.I found her to be punctual and reliable and she possesses something which is highly important to me - common sense! We did not have the agency very long but we were very happy with Andrea.
