About Carer

I’ve worked as a District Nurse for many years and am looking to retire from the NHS and start working self-employed. I have extensive experience in palliative care, end of life care, and general nursing. I’ve also worked with head injured patients.

I enjoy providing patient-centred care that allows people to maintain independence in their own home and supports them to live their best life possible. After years of tight time constraints in District Nursing, I’m looking forward to being able to spend proper time with people.

I’m cheerful and outgoing with a positive outlook on life, and I enjoy meeting people. I love to hear people’s life stories – that has always been one of the parts of my nursing career I’ve most enjoyed.

My nursing background means I’m comfortable with clinical care, medication management, and complex health needs, as well as providing companionship and personal care.

References & Client Feedback

1. I've known Carol for over 10 years. Initially as direct line manager district nurse sister then a lead nurse as community matron up until October 2024. Carol is reliable and trust worthy and would make an excellent independent carer. She works above and beyond to deliver excellent patient care and meet the needs of patients. She can be depended upon in a crisis and an excellent problem solver with a wealth of community experience.

2. I have known Carol Henderson sine the early 1990's, when we became friends and colleagues while working together at a nursing home. We aldso both went on to work for a hospice charity where we would often both be involved with the same patient and their families. On handovers families would always be happy with the care provided by Carol, she was well thought of in the team. I have always found Carol to be a caring and empathic person, she is friendly and engaging. Carol has gone about her role in a professional and diligent way. Approaching each person as an individual treating them with respect dignity and maintaining confidentiality.

I found Carol to be honest trustworthy and reliable. I'm sure she will make an excellent carer. I certainly don't have any concerns in Carol's ability in this role.
