About Carer

I like to make people smile, laugh, and feel like they’re important and heard. I’m very caring and I love listening – my parents have always said I should have been a nurse!

I’m currently looking after my own parents – my Dad has Leukaemia and my Mam has heart failure and AF. I also have close family and friends living with cancer and other serious conditions, so I understand what families go through.

I worked for many years as a GP Referral Coordinator, looking after hundreds of patients requiring care and rehabilitation. I have qualifications and experience in cardiac rehabilitation, cancer rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, and supporting people with auto-immune disorders and mental health conditions including autism, ADHD, bipolar, anxiety and depression.

I’m a gentle, fun person with a giant heart. I still keep in touch with many of the patients I looked after over the years – it was like having lots of Grandmas and Grandads. I loved that, and they did too.

Why we chose this carer

References & Client Feedback

1. I have known Joanne for about 22 years, she was an employee. Joanne is a beautiful person inside and out, she is compassionate, caring and very patient, she holds the ability to listen and works well with all ages and abilities, making her perfect for this kind of role. She is very reliable and can be depended upon. I have no concerns at all where Joanne is concerned. Joanne worked for me on a GP Referral scheme, patients are referred for a large mixture of medical problems including Cardiac problems, muscular skeletal problems, obesity, or maybe just depression, within a varied age range although predominantly older, I feel this experience will go a long way towards working as a carer. I am sure she will be an asset to your business.

2. I have known Joanne for around 8 years now. She is a valued member of my Telesales Team. In the role of aTelesales Operator you have to be able to work on your feet, making decisions on the spot to accommodate our customers. Joanne carries this out to a very high standard, so much so that when I am off she takes over my role as Supervisor. She is trustworthy, reliable and punctual, if she says she is going to do something, you know it's done. (no need to check it's been done) this is a quality that not everyone has. Joanne is very flexible, and a team player. She has a friendly disposition and is very easy to get along with. Her attention to detail is exemplary.
