About Carer

I’m an easy-going, adaptable person with a good sense of humour. I’m empathetic, patient and respectful, always aiming to respect people’s dignity and individuality.

I was an RGN for 20 years, with clinical expertise in acute medicine in hospitals before going into senior roles where I specialised in improving clinical care at a Trust-wide level. I left to become a full-time carer for my son for five years. Following his recovery I retrained as a music producer and have been running my own business for over 14 years.

I enjoy providing personal care, finding the balance between supporting while ensuring independence is maintained. I also offer companionship and I’m skilled at supporting people with dementia and mental health struggles. I’m happy to do light housework and prepare light meals.

Carer Interests

I care about nature and wildlife and I helped set up an organisation that connects people to nature through activities and events. I enjoy walking and socialising with friends and family. Music and the arts are important to me and I write and produce my own music as a hobby as well as professionally.

References & Client Feedback

1. Julie has been working with us for the last two years on a music project with young people. During this time Julie has been dedicated and passionate about the work and shown a very caring attitude towards the young people. She has excellent people skills, is a problem-solver and has worked with the young people to help them increase their confidence and develop new skills. I have no doubt that Julie would be an excellent carer as she is empathetic and works well with people to identify needs and address them.

2. I have known Julie for around 15 years. We have worked together on various projects during my time running my business. I also managed her when she worked as a facilitator on one of our training projects. In my opinion Julie is one of the best people I have worked with. She is reliable, hard working, honest and dedicated. She has a great personality and communicates really well. She is very self motivated and uses her initiative extremely well. I have no hesitation in recommending her for this role and I'm sure that you would have no regrets in appointing her.
