About Carer

I’m 50 years old and from Hexham. I’m interested in building relationships and learning about people from all walks of life. I like to keep busy and be helpful to others.

I started care work in October and am really enjoying the relationships I’ve built so far. I have a gentle, caring, sensitive approach – I like to get to know someone slowly before introducing too much change. I aim to provide heartfelt companionship.

I think it’s important to try and enable clients to get out and about if possible. In addition, I can help with chores, cooking, cleaning and gardening.

For me to provide the type of care that would make a client happy, it’s most important that we like each other. I look forward to meeting new clients to see if we would like to and are able to work together.

Carer Interests

I love a project around the house. I often volunteer at Hexham Commnuity Garden. I like to be outdoors, as well as gardening, I like walking and cycling.Before I had a child I loved to travel for extended periods and get involved in projects away from home. I am interested in getting to know people from all walks of life.

1. Julie worked for us through a supply agency. She supported a child who displayed incredibly challenging behaviours and who, at the time, did not access conventional learning. He was supported on a 1:1 basis and Julie provided this support. She built up a positive relationship with him, carefully managing his complex needs and reporting back to me regarding any concerns/general feedback. Julie communicated well with staff, was professional, reliable and I would say that she would be well suited to a role in care.
