About Carer

I have a “can do” attitude and live life to the full. I love dancing and recently qualified as a yoga teacher. My other passion is enjoying long walks with my husband and our Springer Spaniel.

I find providing home help a very rewarding job and no two days are the same. I see my clients as friends not customers and enjoy many aspects of the job – listening to their life experiences, going out for a walk or visiting a favourite cafe. I’m very friendly and flexible with the help that is required as a care provider, experienced and kind.

I can help with trips out, companionship, shopping, conversation, meal preparation, reading and hobbies, help getting to and from appointments, prescriptions, washing and ironing, light housekeeping, and ethical support. My active lifestyle means I understand the importance of staying independent and engaged, and I bring that energy and positivity to my care work.

Carer Interests

I love dancing (Ceroc, modern jive) and travel around the country for dance weekends. I recently qualified as a yoga teacher. I enjoy long walks with our Springer Spaniel, cycling with my husband, and teaching myself to sew on an old sewing machine. I like to bake and cook from scratch. Over the last few years I've raised a few thousand pounds for Alzheimer's through jumble sales, a midnight walk to Snowdon, and a 13-mile walk around Stonehenge.

References & Client Feedback

1. Kath was a companion to my partner David for over 3 years prior to him going into a care home for his dementia. I found her very compassionate caring and patient in her attitude and she kept David mentally stimulated in the activities she organised for him. David always looked forward to his outings with Kath (2 x 4 hours per week) and she even earned the a nickname which she took in good humour. I was very confident in the service Kath provided and I am sure you will find the same expertise if you were to take her on board.

2. I have no hesitation in recommending Kath for any caring position she has applied for. She is extremely diligent and when I knew Kath she worked with an individual, who had very poor memory. What impressed me about Kath was she was a very active carer, who managed to involve him in a whole range of activities. She always acted in a very professional manner and treated everyone she cared for with utmost respect. She was also excellent at defusing potentially difficult situations, deescalating, and was excellent at reading individuals with potentially challenging behaviour. I have met many carers over the years and Kath stands out as being exceptional in this regard.
