About Carer

I have a caring personality with a good sense of humour. I have 28 years of experience in care work, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, elderly clients, and dementia care. I worked one-on-one with a client with dementia in her own home for two years, which taught me how important continuity of care is.

I have plenty of experience supporting people with all aspects of care needs including personal care, medication administration, moving and handling, cooking meals and household tasks. I have a diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 and keep my training up to date.

My in-laws were supported by Sparrow carers and after seeing the way they worked, I could really see myself working as a self-employed carer – being able to build proper relationships with clients and provide the kind of care I’d want for my own family.

References & Client Feedback

1. "Rachel cared for my wife when she had dementia around 9 yrs ago. We had many carers who were from an agency and Rachel stood out as exceptional. She was genuinely caring and kind, she could see what needed doing and she just did it. She was very good at reading my wife and acted in a way that calmed and reassured her. I was always delighted when it was Rachel who arrived as I knew my wife would be happy and well looked after. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rachel as a carer. I really felt that she was in care for the right reasons and is a genuinely caring person."

2. "Rachel has worked as a Support Worker within our service, supporting various clients.
