I’ve spent 9 years in the care sector, working in clients’ homes and on hospital wards across the North East. I’ve provided all aspects of care including companionship, personal care, medication support, and palliative and end-of-life care. I’ve also trained in clinical care for clients with complex needs, including catheter care, stoma care, PEG feeding, suction, ventilation and tracheostomy care.
What drew me to Sparrow was the chance to become self-employed while having proper support behind me. Hospital and agency work taught me a lot, but I wanted better work-life balance and the ability to deliver care the way I know it should be done – with time to build real relationships with clients rather than rushing between visits.
Being self-employed through Sparrow means I can focus on what matters: providing skilled, compassionate care while maintaining the continuity and personal connection that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
