You can chat on the phone and arrange to meet face to face to make sure they’re a good fit. Take your time and ask all the questions you need — you only move forward when you find a carer who’s just right for you.

Your carer works directly for you with no middleman, so you get consistent, truly personalised care.

Meanwhile, Sparrow supports your carer with training, admin, and advice. We’re here for you too — we’ll always try to support you and help you find the cover or additional care you need.

How we choose our carers

About Sparrow Self-Employed Carers

Sparrow was founded by brother and sister Tom and Anna. Anna, a former nurse, worked as an agency carer before making the switch to self-employed care. Working independently she was finally fairly paid and was able to provide more personalised and responsive care while typically saving her clients £10+ per hour. We wanted other people to experience these benefits, so we set up Sparrow to help families find outstanding independent carers in their local area.

We only work with the best local carers
We believe finding the right person to care for you is everything. We look for carers who are compassionate, capable and communicative, turning down most applicants and only working with carers we’d happily trust to look after our own mum and dad.
